IS-Wireless selected to join DIANA’s 2025 cohort

IS-Wireless has been selected to join NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) 2025 cohort. The company with its Liquid RAN solution was selected from over 2600 applicants across the NATO Alliance.

IS-Wireless Liquid RAN (Radio Access Network) is a dual-use technology that focuses on rapid network restoration and allows replication of damaged base stations anywhere. Liquid RAN allows the deployment of the cellular network on top of the highly volatile computing infrastructure, a critical feature that contemporary RAN implementations have not achieved.

In non-crisis situations, Liquid RAN enables significant savings in network deployment, operations, and energy consumption costs. The solution can be used i.e. by mobile network operators massively densifying their networks.

As dual-use technology, Liquid RAN can easily be applied to critical situations where such behavior of RAN is vital: self-healing, rapid network restoration, efficient resource utilization to minimize costs, and enhanced security protection from cyberattacks and other threats. A cellular network is of utmost importance in critical situations and therefore it is highly exposed to potential enemy attacks or to natural disaster situations. This results in downtime of the network and a lack of basic connectivity services.

Liquid RAN allows destroyed or sabotaged base stations to be replicated anywhere. It is done by distributing base station functionalities across existing resources in the network and instantly recreating missing base station functionalities.

There are geopolitical challenges that we address with our 5G and later 6G solutions. The dual-use nature of the product addresses current business needs but is also prepared for various unexpected situations. One can say we deliver mobile networks with an embedded insurance policy
